Having reviewed the Biore Baking Soda products, I wanted to showcase three more powder based face washes. The powder format is amazingly easy to travel with and a different way to clean your face. I never knew there were so many options out there! All start off as powder and transfer with the addition of water. Though they start the same, these three perform differently and you may have a preference for one or the other.
Pure + Simple Organic Vanilla Cleansing Powder ($25CDN, 100ml)
Claims: A versatile powder that can be used as a base for an exfoliant or mask. It will renew, balance and purify your skin. Inspired by Ayurveda, the ingredients gently cleanse, stimulate cells, nourishes, detoxifies and calms your skin.
Ingredients: Chickpea Powder, Salix Alba (Organic Willow Bark) Powder, Vanilla Plantifolia (Organic Vanilla) Powder, Organic Buttermilk Powder, Avena Sativa (Organic Colloidal Oatmeal) Powder, Yellow French Clay, Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda) Powder, Calendula Officinalis (Organic Calendula) Powder, Chamomila Recutita (Organic Chamomile) Powder, Allantoin (from comfrey) Powder.
Performance: When mixed with water this does get more paste like and you can definetly smell the earthy-beaniness of this. It reminds me of chinese herbal ingredients but not with quite that pungency. The paste has enough fine grit in it to gently exfoliate. Nothing is harsh or too scratchy and somehow the paste manages to be both smooth yet textured with extremely fine smooth rounded firm sand like particles.
Claims: A powder-to-foam wash that creates microfine later which gently cleanses and exfoliates using enzymes for a smoother complexion. Honey and sodium hyaluronate promote hydration. This is perfect for travel.
Ingredients: zea mays (corn) starch, maltitol, potassium myristate, sodium cocoyl glycinate, sodium cocoyl isethionate, sorbitol, protease, dipotassium glycrrhizate, glycyl glycine, silica, water/aqua/eau, alcohol, honey/mel/miel, sodium hyaluronate, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) flower extract
Performance: The amazing thing you'll quickly realize about this powder is the intense lather it can generate. Even just a little powder will get you lots and lots of lather that never seems to dry your skin out. This is a great cleanser for morning and nights. My face never fells stripped, always feels clean, even when I'm more than a little oily. This is a great powder face wash to try!

Claims: This activates upon contact with water, releasing Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice enzymes that micro-exfoliate, leaving skin smoother and brighter. Ingredients balance uneven skin pigmentation and helps calm skin, leaving it extraordinarily clear and refreshed. This contains rice bran, colloidal oatmeal, licorice, grapefuit, green tea and ginko extracts,
Ingredients: Microcrystalline Cellulose, Talc, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Disodium Lauryl, Sulfosuccinate, Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Colloidal Oatmeal, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Starch, Allantoin, Papain, Salicylic Acid, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis, Leaf Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, PCA, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Cyclodextrin, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Limonene, Lauryl Methacrylate/Glycol Dimethacrylate Cross polymer, Methylparaben, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891).
Performance: This is the most pricy of the bunch. I love the paste it forms with water. The paste does create a scrub though its not like many physical exfoliants. When you massage the paste on, you almost feel like there are little mini firm paste balls doing the exfoliation so there's nothing harsh about this. As you continue to massage, the balls dissipate but it takes longer than you would expect. My face feels clean, not stripped after using this and gently exfoliated.

Out of the three, I enjoy the DHC option for ever day use. It is the most economic of the bunch. Not to be used as an exfoliant, I found this little bottle has lasted me an amazing length of time and would recommend you trying it out!
