The CBB recently worked on a campaign with a perfume brand where individuals got to choose scents in the line and I was overwhelmed with the number of individuals who chose food related scents. Well, the latest collaboration from L'Occitane with Pierre Hermé (of macaron and pastry making fame), gives you an option for both food and florals. Which would you choose?
Pastry Chef Pierre Hermé helped create limited edition fragrances for L'Occitane which mixed flavor, shape and color. The result was two scents, Jasmin-Immortelle-Neroli and Grapefruit-Rhubarb.
Jasmin-Immortelle-Neroli Eau de Toilette ($65CDN, 75ml) is described as a floral, feminine and fiery.
Top notes: Petit grain, Pink Pepper, Lemon
Heart notes: Jasmine, Immortelle, Neroli, Orange Blossom
Base notes: Amber, White Wood, Musk
When I wear this, I feel like a classic French woman. A French woman who doesn't isn't interested in fads, is set in her ways and lives an authentic but elegant life. Its definitely feminine and maybe too classic for me. It feels suited for someone who is in control of their life and is aware of who they are, something I'm still working towards.
Grapefruit-Rhubarb ($65CDN, 75ml) is described as mischievous, sensual and crisp. It is suitable for men and women.
Top notes: Grapefruit, Rhubarb, Lemon, Cypress
Heart notes: Clove, Nutmeg, Lavadin
Base notes: Cedar, Vetiver
This scent is definitely more me. There's an instant burst of freshness that mellows out into a spicy citrus scent. There is no candy citrus here but instead the balanced sweetness of a light cake with a touch of bite which makes this more interesting and less flat.
Both Eau de Toilettes didn't last too long on me and more than a few spritz are necessary but you can always pair the perfumes with some of their accompanying body products. Each scent has a hand cream ($12, 30ml), shower gel ($22CDN, 250ml), and body lotions ($32CDN, 250ml). If you like the scents, there's actually a great hand soap (so so creamy, love it), hand cream and lip gloss set for ($26CDN)!
These are all limited edition, so I would pop into the stores soon. Now, this begs the question.
