Fine. I will admit that these are cute. My hardened basic-bitch heart has thawed slightly for these plastic apple shaped, stamped on, Hello-Kitty-faced lip balms. The An Apple a Day Trio Balm Set almost wins my heart over.

An Apple a Day Trio Lip Balm Set* ($26CDN, 0.13oz each) contains 3 lip
balms in Think Pink (hot pink), Natural (nude), and Red Delicious (candy apple
red). The formula is suppose to hydrate with an infusion of strawberry,
vanilla, apple, and coconut oil, while giving intense color.
On first glance, I was going to write these off as just another tinted balm thingy and I wasn't super jazzed about cracking them open. There's no denying that they are a tinted balm but with the addition of the small mirror (yea small but still functional) and the pigmented, glossy finish, these are surprisingly nice.
However, the balms were almost a hit for me. The color payoff and their super comfortable on-lip feel is quite nice and worth writing home about but I wish they were actually more hydrating. Maybe my lips were particularly dry the days I tried these but I did find my lips flaking a little.
I was going to suggest that this might be one of the sets actually worth picking up but...if you're not in the market for another tinted lip balm you may find better options out there. If they had classified these as lip glosses, I probably would have rated them a bit higher...
