In the Moment #13: Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow Event

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow Event

Eyeshadow was the first cosmetic item that got me hooked onto beauty. Promise me extreme pigmentation, an amazing color range, and a variety of finishes and you'll have me in swatch heaven for a while. Promise me all these things, and you'll get the new Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows.

To know:
- 210 new shadows in four finishes (satin, matte, diamond, iridescent)
- 88% concentrated pigment using Pigment Atomization technology (they really really pack that pigment into those pans)
- superior blending and intense color payoff

We first rummaged through some craft boxes to create our mood boards. I think I could pass muster for kindergarten grade mood boarding, but mostly I was having "wtf...?' moments where I tried to be creative and was paralyzed by my inability to do so.

I met Steph from The Fantasia for the first time. HI STEPH!!!!

Behold my creation entitled "What we dredged from the sea - a call to arms against littering" (hahahahha..oh god). It's going up on the fridge.

At the end of it we got to pick three shadows and a brush. This took forever since I was so happy to swatch everything. Creating a color palette is slightly difficult since I keep getting distracted with other colors (SQUIRREL!!). I chose ME108, I634, D708 and the 210 wavy eye smudge brush.

This, along with a small Coastal Scents palette was all I took with me to Saskatoon for eye colors. Really paring down my color options to only this trio was actually quite liberating and I realized I never use about 50% of the cosmetics I bring on vacation.

I also discovered something really awesome about the shadows. Since they are so incredibly blendable (they really really are), I was able to blend some new colors onto my lids which made three shadows into five.

I'm already contemplating which other ones I'll pick up. These are now available at Sephora where you can get them as a single ($25CDN), duo ($39CDN) or trio ($50). Regular Sephora stores will only have half of the colors but the full MUFE boutiques will have them all. I'd go for the 'bulk' option since it does save you a little bit of money.

Have you swatched these yet? Because you really should...
